BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) - Eastern Samar Field Office (ESFO) implemented different skills trainings and scholarships programs which benefitted more than 3,000 individuals in the province in 2022.
According to TESDA Provincial Director Antonio C. Waniwan, TESDA-ESFO allocated P67.3-M for for the skills training and scholarship programs.
This include Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) - P26-M; Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) - P2.9-M; Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) funded by Rep. Ma. Fe R. Abunda - P6-M, and 4P's Party List - P1.5-M; Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers - P2.9-M; and Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) Act - P22-M.
Waniwan also said there is a new TESDA program which was only implemented on November 2022, the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program (CFSP), with budget allocation of P5.4-M sourced from the Coco Levy Fund, to be implemented for five years or from 2022 to 2028.
Waniwan further said that there is also the "Tsuper Scholar" under the Department of Transportation (DOTr), now on its third year of implementation and has an allocation of P641,740.
"All allocated funds for TESDA-ESFO are 100% implemented and benefitted thousands Eastern Samareños," Waniwan said, adding that TESDA has been implementing programs to streamline and enhance the agency's services particularly training delivery. (MMP/SDC/PIA Eastern Samar)
