TACLOBAN CITY (PIA) -- In order to provide educational and employment opportunities to low-income families in Eastern Visayas, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) Auto Mechanic Training Centre announced the acceptance of applications for Automotive Servicing Scholarship this year.
The scholarship program offers a two-year free training on automotive servicing which is equivalent to National Certificate I to IV.
Applicants must be residents of Eastern Visayas, at least 16 to 23 years old, at least high school graduate or Grade 10, Senior High School (SHS) graduate, ALS passer, or college level but not able to continue education due to lack of financial capacity, single without children and without a live-in partner.
TESDA Regional Director Gamaliel B. Vicente Jr. encouraged members of the 4P’s program of the government or those from indigent families to apply.
Applicants must also be in good mental, emotional and physical health; morally upright with good moral character from previous school where he/she graduated or enrolled; willing to work immediately after completion of the program; willing to work from Mondays to Saturdays; willing to stay in the dormitory for the whole training period and fully vaccinated.
Some benefits include free tuition and course materials; free board and lodging for two years; free training and toiletry supplies; free Philhealth and life insurance; free medical and dental services; free meals; free driving NC II training and driver’s license application and 100% employment after training.
Applicants will undergo a screening process to include aptitude examination, interview, and house visitation.
Interested applicants must submit the following documentary requirements: filled-out application form; photocopy of certificate of live birth from NSO or PSA; photocopy of high school diploma or certification as Grade 10 completer/SHS graduate/level or ALS passer certificate; photocopy of 4P’s ID (if 4P’s member) or photocopy of the certificate of indigency from the barangay if not a 4P’s member; photocopy of good moral character and certificate from previous school where he/she graduated.
