TACLOBAN CITY - Elderly Taclobanons trooped to the City Engineer's Office Gym on January 31, 2023, for the free diabetes and vision screenings organized by an international non-government organization in coordination with the City Government of Tacloban.
The 5-day activities sponsored by the Phoenix Phil-Am Lions Club, a humanitarian organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, with Filipino and American members, were held for in Tacloban City.
On February 1, the humanitarian mission team also went to San Jose Gymnasium for the same mission, and on February 2, the venue was at the basketball court of St. Francis Village for the benefit of needy elderlies in the northern barangays of the city.
According to the team's focal person, around 9,000 reading glasses and 400 food packs were distributed to beneficiaries during the duration of the humanitarian mission.
Other organizations that helped during the activities were the Philippine Air Force, the Eagles Club, and the Hiraya Foundation of Tacloban City. (Tacloban CIO)
