TACLOBAN CITY - The fumigation team from the City Health Office and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of this city regularly conducted the search, destroy and misting activities in the different barangays and schools in Tacloban City.
Recently, Barangay 59-A was visited by the team and encouraged households to exert efforts in combating dengue fever, especially now that the country is experiencing incessants rains and floodings in some areas.
It is noted that dengue hemmorhagic fever is a fatal disease and in order to avoid emergency cases and casualties, preventive measures must be observed.
With this, the health office has reminded the public to practice the 4S strategy which includes search and destroy mosquito breeding places, as well as self-protection methods.
Currently, the city has recorded 23 cases, of which four (4) are suspected; seven (7) probable; and 12 confirmed cases. (Tacloban CIO)
