By Samuel Candido BORONGAN CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) - Local Health Integrated Office (LHIO) announced the implementation of an improved consultation program which can be availed in seven accredited healthcare facilities in the province of Eastern Samar this year.
According to PhilHealth Information Officer Sherwin Aquino, the said program is called PhilHealth KonSulTa or Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama, the defined primary care benefit of PhilHealth.
“Previously, the benefits were only for those who are admitted to the hospitals, for this year, outpatient or those who could be consulted are now included in the program. All PhilHealth eligible members can enjoy the benefits and it is only necessary to register at the accredited PhilHealth KonSulTa Facility selected by the member,” Aquino said.
Aquino also disclosed that there are now seven accredited KonSulTa providers in Eastern Samar implementing the said program. These are Borongan City Health Offices 1 and 2, Eastern Samar Provincial Hospital (ESPH), Rural Health Unit (RHU) – Can-Avid, RHU-Taft, RHU-Maydolong, and Felipe Abrido Memorial Hospital (FAMH) in Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
The Information Officer also revealed that additional facilities, namely RHU Salcedo and Sulat, have already processed their documents for accreditation.
Meanwhile, the Borongan Doctors Hospital and Domingo Casano Hospital already showed their interest by asking for an application form for accreditation at PhilHealth.
Under the KonSulta program, PhilHealth pays P500 to government facilities for treating each patient, whereas private facilities receive P750 from PhilHealth for each patient treated. (MMP/SDC/PIA Eastern Samar with Pen Pomida/RP and Janica Ivy Anacta/ESSU Intern)
