CATARMAN, Northern Samar (PIA) -- Some 14 exhibitors from the province of Northern Samar join the four-day Bahandi: Hanap-Yaman sa Kanayunan Trade Fair now ongoing at the Robinsons Place Marasbaras, this Tacloban City.
The 14 exhibitors are the Cagamutan Farmers and Irrigators Association Inc. with their Nito products; Ronnie Woodcrafts Manufacturing (drift wood handicrafts); Allen Organic Vegetable Raisers (organic fertilizers); Jerwinian Arts and Crafts Manufacturing (wearables and homestyles products); Samahan ng mga Kababaihan sa Barangay Inc. (taro chips, atsara and turmeric tea).
Also joining the trade fair are Christopher Processed Food Manufacturing with their molido and pinyato; Nenita Coconut Farmers Association/ARM farm (tablea, VCO and coco vinegar); Weng’s Food Products (cassava chips); Ruth Homemade Products (various food products); Beata’s Delicacies (pili products); Alice and Vic Food Processing (banana chips, turmeric tea and tamarind balls); Catarman Producers Cooperative (coco sugar, turmeric tea, coco vinegar and wine); Cagogobngan Women’s Association (various food products); and KMR Food Processing (molido, banana and cassava chips).
DTI Provincial Director Mimosa Regis said a number of products from Northern Samar have grown significantly over the past five years and these are exhibited in the DTI’s regional trade fairs in Tacloban through the efforts of Negosyo Center Business Counselors in the 24 LGUs of the Province.
Out of the 68 exhibitors from all over Eastern Visayas, 14 are from Northern Samar with a sales target of P500,000 while the regional sales target is at P2.5 million. As of Sunday, May 14, Northern Samar has already generated P285,855 sales. .
“We would like to acknowledge the unwavering support of the Provincial Government headed by Gov. Edwin Ongchuan, without which we will have difficulty generating the products and developing our micro entrepreneurs,” said Regis. (MMP/ADiaz/PIA Northern Samar)
