MAASIN CITY (PIA) -- The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) branch office in this city has recognized some government agencies for their efforts as top performers in their dealings with the state pension firm.
Marilyn Abelido, GSIS Branch Manager, led the giving of the certificates of recognition during the orientation for Agency Authorized Officers (AAOs) and Electronic Remittance File (ERF) handlers on Thursday, May 4, at the Liga ng mga Barangay Function Hall, Government Center, Brgy. Combado.
Cited for Zero Unpaid Premium for the years 2022 and 2023 was Maasin Water District (MWD), a lone distinction among the agencies under GSIS-Maasin area coverage, from the whole of Southern Leyte province extending to Baybay City in Leyte province.
For Top Collection Efficiency on Loans, five (5) agencies made it to the list, and these included DPWH, LTO, Hilongos District Hospital, the municipal government of Malitbog, and Southern Leyte State University - Hinunangan Campus.
These agencies “have exerted extra-mile efforts of paying not only the current loan amortization but also account with arrearages,” the GSIS said in a statement, adding that they are “doing commendable jobs as partner-stewards of the GSIS Pension and Life Insurance Funds by making sure that all loans due to the GSIS are paid every month including those accounts in-default.”
Another citation, Agencies with Lowest Unpaid Premiums, was awarded to the office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and DepEd-Maasin City Division.
For the Most Dynamic and Collaborative Agencies in Paying the Unpaid Premiums, this was awarded to Visayas State University, City Government of Maasin, and the City Government of Baybay.
“These agencies had paid substantial amount to the GSIS during the year 2022, had done their part in fulfilling commitment to GSIS, acted immediately on strategies as agreed, and the meetings were attended by key people with the influence and power to resolve the problem at hand,” the GSIS said.
