TACLOBAN CITY, (PIA) –- Joint elements of the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested an alleged member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) on Friday, January 6, at Sitio Guinpondu-an, Brgy. Cogon, Basey, Samar.
Basey Municipal Police Station led by Police Captain Geoffrey B. Bantule, together with the Samar Police Provincial Office, 2nd Special Mobile Police Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division, 805th Mobile Company, Regional Mobile Force Batallion-8 and Special Action Force comprised the team that conducted the arrest.
Police authorities identified one of the arrested members of the CTG as Tanie Dagumay alias Janito Dagumay y Yangao, 62 years old, farmer and a resident of Sitio Guinpundu-an.
Report from the Police Regional Office 8 disclosed that the alleged CTG member is reportedly listed as No. 7 Most Wanted Person in the regional, No. 5 Most Wanted Person of the Samar Police Provincial Office, and No. 2 Most Wanted Person in the municipality.
The accused has a standing warrant of arrest for murder, frustrated murder, and attempted murder lodged at the Regional Trial Court, 8th Judicial Region, Branch 30, Basey Samar.
Prior to this, joint operatives of the 805th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Batallion 8, together with the Samar Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, Basey MPS, Regional Intelligence Division 8 Tracker of Samar and Leyte, and members of the Special Action Force has also arrested another alleged member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) identified as Roque Palermo y Dagumay, 45 years old, farmer and a resident also of Sitio Guinpundu-an.
He is reportedly listed as No. 9 Most Wanted Person in the regional, No. 6 Most Wanted Person in the province and No. 1 Most Wanted Person in the municipality.
The accused is also facing cases for murder, frustrated murder, and attempted murder.
