NAVAL, Biliran -- The School of Technology and Computer Studies (STCS) joined the prelude to the Biliran Province State University's (BiPSU) golden anniversary celebration with their school days dubbed as STCS KARISYUHAN 2022 held on July 6-8.
Anchored on the theme, "Tradition and Transformation: A Celebration of BIPSU's Golden Years of Weaving Worthiness," STCS students were divided into three Philippine mythology-inspired teams: Mayari, Saik, and Lalahon.
Dr. Chona B. Sabinay, STCS dean, said that more than showcasing the talent and skills of their school's students, the event primarily aimed to provide students a venue to enjoy physically, be connected emotionally, and relax mentally.
"We want to raise awareness about mental health and promote health-seeking behaviors and emotional well-being practices among students,"
she said.
During the celebration, the three teams competed for supremacy by participating in various activities, including Teknofest, Culture and Arts Festival, Tech-Talk Series, Laro ng Lahi, Mr. & Ms. STCS 2022, and STCS Baliktaran 2022.
Moreover, students' night, alumni homecoming, and faculty fellowship were also among the activities that transpired during the event. Furthermore, Dean Sabinay thanked those who participated and urged them to continue what they have shown during the event.
"I hope that the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie among faculty and students will be maintained,"
she added.
The STCS KARISYUHAN 2022 is part of BIPSU's months-long celebration of its 50th Founding Anniversary
