DPWH Biliran employees train on fire safety awareness, emergency preparedness

NAVAL, Biliran -- Employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) underwent basic training on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and fire drill conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Biliran Provincial Office (BPO).


The said activity was held at the DPWH-Biliran DEO recently with SInsp. Zardoz V. Abela, acting provincial fire director, guest speaker, together with Insp. Joseph Raymund C. Arendayen of the Naval Fire Station.



DPWH-BDEO has been collaborating with different government agencies for an information dissemination drive of their activities, programs and projects every Monday, after the flag raising ceremony until April 8, as part of its 63rd founding anniversary celebration.


This month, BFP-BPO was invited as the month of March has been declared Fire Prevention Month per Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A.


Emergency Medical Services (EMS) of Naval Fire Station composed of BFP registered nurses and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), conducted demonstration of CPR to the BDEO employees.


Meanwhile, members of the Special Rescue Force conducted a fire safety awareness lecture and demonstration.


The said training helps BDEO employees not only in preventing fire but also saving lives thru basic knowledge on giving first aid.


The activity, concluded with the signing of Kaisa tarpaulin, a call to action against destructive fire campaign signed by SInsp. Abela and Assistant District Engineer Alfredo L. Bollido.
