NAVAL, Biliran -- The Biliran Police Provincial Office (BPPO joined the community blood letting activity initiated by Isla De Panamao Eagles Club of the Fraternal Order of Eagles held recently at the covered court of Brgy. Sto. Niňo, this town.

A total of 21 police personnel from BPPO presented themselves to donate blood purposely to save lives, especially Biliranons who are in need the most of it.

Also present during the activity were personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Army, DOH Biliran, and other partner agencies.

Target beneficiary were barangays Sto. Niňo and Sto. Rosario of Naval town.

This activity aimed to extend support to other people in need which is one of the social responsibilities of the PNP to save the lives of the other people best emphasized on its core value, “Makatao.”

It was also part of the month-long 2022 National Women’s Month celebration activities with this year’s theme, "We Make Change Work for Women" with the sub-theme, “Agenda ng Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran.”

Blood donation is parallel to fulfilling biblical principle that man could share, give, or lay down his life to his fellow or friends, a truism, that PNP is not only promoting peace and order but also extending life to other people.

Police Colonel Joel T Serrano, acting provincial director, commended blood donors who participated in the activity.

“This is not only fulfilling the maxim “live and let live” but fulfilling the divine law in saving the lives of the people,”

Serrano said.

“A donation of blood means a few minutes from you, but a lifetime for somebody else,”

he added.
